Catalunya Independencia
Today, 9/11, back home in the states is a day of remembrance of the act of terrorism against the United States. However, in Catalunya (a part of Spain) it is a day of celebration of being Catalan. I don't have a full understanding of exactly what was going on but I know that there was a manifestation and that the people of Catalunya were not only celebrating being Catalan but also demonstrating that they want their independence from Spain. There were literally hundreds of people walking the streets showing their pride with all their flags and tshirts representing Catalunya. It was amazing to see. I did not stay for very long because both me and Michelle got overwhelmed by all the people and we couldn't stand the heat. But for the time we were there it was unreal to see the amount of pride everyone had and how passionate the people were.
